Today we are talking about how to use the interest rate tax hike as a marketing tool. We’re talking about how to use all news like this as marketing tools. Why is this so important for your business in 2016? Because 2016 is all about content marketing.
What is content marketing? Simply, it’s creating valuable information that ideal customers are looking for for answers to their questions. Content that can educate people on buying or selling real estate is what drives business.
Creating valuable content. I want to talk about my step-by-step process for a minute. Rates went up and the first thing i did was record a video. I knew people were talking about it and I knew it was relevant. I optimized the video for certain terms that I knew would connect with people’s questions. I uploaded it to YouTube and I also uploaded it to FB, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Google +. Then i took that same video and sent it to everyone I knew. I touched a large audience, with relevant information that answered a question.
The point is, any time you can educate others with a newsworthy relevant article, hop all over it.
Tips for create good content. Some tips for those who are looking for ways to include content, there are a few ways to do it. The goal for today is to just give people a ton of ideas to create content on.
One of Mike’s agents recently produced a blog post and video titled, “Everything You Need to Know about Homebuyer Downpayment Assistance”. It immediately gave her more authority. Producing video gives you more authority and helps people identify with you as a person.
“Top five exterior improvements that boost resales value”, “4 plumbing inspection tips for homebuyers”, “7 steps for buying and selling a house at the same time” – examples of very successful pieces of content you can write. These types of topics demonstrate your expertise and provide readers with important information that makes the process go smoother.
The point is, there are many topics and niche areas that you can write about that will appeal directly to many types of readers.
Staying relevant. Staying local. Searching for a home is a different process today and it’s unlikely that people are going to your site to search the MLS listings . Be sure you’re competing with national sites like Trulia and Zillow by creating valuable content that those sites don’t offer. Offer articles about the neighborhood in which their searching. Show that you’re a real person with real information about the area in which their searching and you’ll have a better opportunity to reach new clients.
When you provide value to others and people can see that you’re real, that’s when it works the best.
Know your stuff. You need to be an expert on what you do.You can’t expect your clients to know the ins and out of homebuying, that’s your job.
